High end shops and delightful restaurants are the day to day advantages of living in Jardins! However as it's name indicates the greener environment is also a huge draw!
The dream of a "garden district" came from England to Brazil in the nineteenth century with the English urbanist Barry Parker. The houses were constructed to allow for expansive green spaces between them. In the 50s, the area was inundated with luxurious buildings, according to the needs of the Paulista elite of the time. The neighbourhood has since become one with the highest concentration of opulence and glamour of São Paulo.
The region consists of four gardens: Jardim Europa, Jardim America, Jardim Paulista and Jardim Paulistano. Nonetheless, it's not only extravagant buildings and upscale houses that are found in the region. The Gardens are also home to the luxury motoring market. More than often, entire streets are lined with Lamborghini and Ferrari super-cars, so it's not uncommon to see the world's best machines roaming the region's avenues.
Jardins is also known for having a street that combines the best of the fashion world, Rua Oscar Freire. Within a few blocks you can find stores like Iódice and H. Stern. And if you get hungry whilst shopping, you can indulge in some of the area's trendiest restaurants, like Antiquarius, and Dulca - a restaurant that specialises in the craft of sweetmeat.
